Public bug reported: Good afternoon,
Issue #1 I have installed Ubuntu 6.10 on a PC with the following keyboard attached. Bus 001 Device 002: ID 046d:c309 Logitech, Inc. Internet Keyboard I see in my "System --> Preferences --> Keyboard --> Layouts" that the following device was detected. Generic 105-key (Intl) PC The expected behavior is that Gnome's "Keyboard Preferences" would match the make/model of keyboard attached. This would apply on installation, boot, and hotplug events. Issue #2 When I "Choose" my keyboard model in the "System --> Preferences --> Keyboard --> Layouts", I see two Identical entries for "Logitech Internet Keyboard" in the selections list. The expected result is that there is one "Logitech Internet Keyboard", or that there is additional text differentiating the two configurations. Issue #3 When I choose the top "Logitech Internet Keyboard" in "System --> Preferences --> Keyboard --> Layouts --> Choose", then select "Close", then return to "System --> Preferences --> Keyboard --> Layouts --> Choose", the lower of the two entries for "Logitech Internet Keyboard" is selected. To restate for clarity, I select the top entry, the system reverts to the bottom entry.
