Update: My computer seemed to be operating normally for a few days, even
rebooting worked.

A few moments ago I installed Samba which required a reboot and my
computer gave me a Fatal mother board failure again.

Perhaps reboot fails when something is changed/configured/installed
during a reboot, maybe something is not terminating/exiting correctly on
shutdown?

Just a few assumptions...
