Binary package hint: ms-sys
Today I used this program with a Gutsy live CD to help me reinstall
Windows on a friend's computer. GRUB was still present in the MBR and I
only had the computer vendor's recovery discs, not an actual Windows CD.
MS-SYS restored the MBR and allowed Windows to boot.
Now that I am home I have realised that ms-sys is not available in the
repositories for Hardy. Unless there is a technical reason why the
program cannot be included in new Ubuntu releases, I believe it should
be reinstated. It is truly an invaluable recovery tool.
