Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
Network manager will no longer auto connect to my hidden network on sign in even with all security turned off. I'm having an educated guess that this is because the network is hidden as if I choose my neighbor's visible WEP protected wireless, it asks for the WEP key after I sign in. Pre-Intrepid, I used to turn off roaming and use a manual connection to auto-connect but I can't find any way to do this in Intrepid. My network works fine once I connect through "Connect to other wireless network" and it seems to remember the SSID as it shows in the list, just it wont connect without me telling it to? One solution could be to perhaps have working back-up GUI tool like the "System->Administration->Network" manual network setup from previous releases that you can use if the latest Network Manager can't do what you need? ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Network manager cannot autoconnect to a hidden network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273467 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
