using the 32bit desktop 6.10 iso I could not install to a disk already formated to ext3 containing *only* /root and /home without selecting the reformat switch.
on my other desktop, I installed the 64bit alternate 6.10 iso under the same conditions and it worked perfectly. therefore the problem might be isolated to the desktop isos. the problems happens on the last screen where you have to select the "/" and other points where partitions are mounted, and where you tick reformat. I think there are many people who would like a clean install and to keep their /home intact. I have 60G on the 80G disk that I dont want erased. -- Installer would only install to / if it could reformat https://launchpad.net/bugs/70243 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
