hi,

if you want to use NetworkManager, you have to change you 
/etc/network/interfaces to:
#BEGIN
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
#END

I think it's not allowed to have an entry for eth0 (or eth1,...). 
If you don't want to use NetworkManager, then delete it with apt and configure 
you network with /etc/network/interfaces.
