Right, so can each of you confirm that the issue here is:

After a successful hibernation, the system does not resume from
hibernate successful.

As a result of an unsuccessful resume from hibernate, the swap partition
is left corrupted and not mounted as a result.

Could you please do:

  sudo file -s /dev/sdX

where 'sdX' is the swap partition, which you can get from:

  cat /proc/swaps.
