I tested the issue on Edgy and can reproduce problem. Now it seems like there is an initial delay, and after that initial delay it repeats normally. This was once again caused just by setting Num Lock to be on when KDE starts.
What information / commands would you like for me to supply? I was thinking dmesg, but that might be overkill.
