I got an old matrox g400 dualhead (agp 4x) and see the same faults as described above. I hope that the status of this bug will change soon from undecided. It should not be a big problem to update a single driver to the next subversion. What do you need to decide? The current driver does not work with any gl-application. Nearly evrything uses gl nowadays - even starting a simple swing application in eclipse... I think in this situation you can only decide to give the latest driver a chance. It should not be worse as some people already stated that it's working for them.
