Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24
Ubuntu 8.04.1 - AMD64 Linux kernel 2.6.24-19 "ASUS P5Q Deluxe" Motherboard Intel Quad Core processor 4GB RAM When copying iso's from different machines using scp, I would find that the md5 sum had changed. I thought it was a network problem until I tried copying the same ISO locally with a different file name. md5sum is different and changing every time. ubuntu> cp ubuntu-8.04.1-alternate-amd64.iso ubuntu-8.04.1-alternate-amd64.iso2 ubuntu> md5sum * 227bdc87340e708b6443bdbfbc04f165 *ubuntu-8.04.1-alternate-amd64.iso f246ecabfc235692a07b8a18b6ff0fbf *ubuntu-8.04.1-alternate-amd64.iso2 ubuntu> It doesn't seem to occur with relatively small files. My ISO's are about 700mb in size. I don't know what the treashold is without testing but I'll provide it if someone finds that useful. I've trying re-installing Using mem=3072M Using acpi=off, noapic Upgraded my BIOS Ran memtest without fail. Nothing seems to work. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- large file corruption on local copy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268778 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
