This is basically a wishlist bug for casper to build /etc/fstab. People using the GNOME gui from the livecd can get partitions mounted through nautilus and GNOME's device manager stuff, which can handle removable as well as static drives. /etc/fstab isn't needed for that.
It would be nice to have an fstab, but it would be hard to do it perfectly (in the face of removable devices, esp. hotplug SATA/e-SATA). If having an fstab doesn't interfere with GNOME's device manager, then naively putting all devices detected at boot time into it would be nice. Otherwise, it's better to avoid creating bugs for GUI on the live CD, at least by default. Customized livecd users who like fstab might want to add something to set up an fstab... -- Ubuntu Intrepid Alpha4 & Hardy fails to mount hard drive - Live session user https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260243 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
