Please consider the attached debdiff to resolve this issue with openvpn-2.1~rc7.
This bug will affect all users using x509 certificates and the ccd function of openvpn. This bug has been resolved by upstream in Intrepid has it was fixed in openvpn-2.1~rc8 and Intrepid now includes openvpn-2.1~rc9.
