Since your wireless enable/disable key doesn't generate a scan code, I'm not sure what we can do.
>From what I read through googling, some Compaq notebooks are unable to change the state of the wireless in Linux. One person's solution was "For all those with only one system: Go to BIOS and do the Restore original settings. That will keep all your passwords and ID settings, but it will reset everything else. Now don't touch the wlan switch. To disable wlan click on the network icon with right-click and disable wireless there. Hope this helps. Needed almost a week to figure this one out." For those that do dual boot Windows, some have reported a BIOS setting to not turn off wireless when shutting down. That has fixed it for them. My system generates a 0x238 scan code when the wireless switch is toggled.
