I can confirm to this: 1) open Places->Computer 2) double-click any ntfs volume (several times, no result) 3) hit refresh (F5), volume shows mounted, and can now browse it.
my fstab NTFS volumes are as follows: /dev/hda1 /media/hda1 ntfs defaults,noauto,nls=utf8,umask=022,gid=46,user 0 1 i haven't tested this with any non-ntfs volume.
