** Description changed: The sidepanel metabar could be really nice. But some very basic behaviors (easy to say while I'm not implementing it ;-) are lacking, - and there are some ui bugs (I think). + and there is at least one UI bug. (#2 makes it impossible to see + metadata on an item given the default values for clicking and selecting: + single-click to open on, select-on-hover off) 1) In Media:/ and possibly in /Media/ or whatnot at the right mountpoints, highlighting (like with a dragbox or by clicking, if single-click is off) should provide disk usage information, like the meta tab in properties. 2) Highlighting a file with the dragbox, and then selecting it by clicking (or right-clicking) on it does not bring up info in metabar. 3) Highlighting a file (or files) with the drag box does not bring up info in metabar. 4) It would be nice if I could highlight a group of files (photos for example) and have common options appear in metabar (gwenview or whatnot). I'm pretty pleased with how Dapper's turning out. Hehe. I just thought someone ought to know this. :-) (Mis-numbered. sorry for the multiple edits - I hope it doesn't email you for each one)
