NiceDay: Switching bootloader under conditions that would be fairly opaque to the user would be a pain to support. Giving users the choice (at least in the non-expert modes) means asking a deeply technical question of users who shouldn't have to care. It also means supporting lilo as a bootloader for default installations. Checking wasn't implemented either because this wasn't caught before release or there was insufficient time to implement a proper check and response.
Colin: My comment about the release notes in the other bug was a reference to <http://www.ubuntu.com/download/releasenotes/606>, which appears to have no link to the wiki page about known issues in Ubuquity. -- should warn at partitioning stage if /boot is on XFS https://launchpad.net/bugs/47848 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
