Salve, Descompecte, va em Sistema->Preferencias->Aparência e depois em Instalar Tema, escolhe o arquivo NewWave_0.4.3.tar.gz dentro da pasta que você descompactou e pronto, ai você vai e edita o seu tema e usa o novo.
Na pasta do usuário tem a pasta .gconf, peguei o conteúdo da gconf que vem com o tema e coloquei dentro da .gconf do meu usuário e pronto. Antes de colocar o gconf meu tema já funcionava tranquilo, normal.
