Infelizmente as dependencias nao são escolhidas por nós e sim pelos desenvolvedores do software, se voce nao quer instalar tudo isso e acha que vai funcionar mesmo assim voce pode tentar fazer o seguinte, mas é por sua conta e risco:
$ sudo apt-get -d install disc-cover quando voce usa a opçao -d no apt-get ele só faz o download dos arquivos e nao instala, ele irá baixar todos os arquivos na pasta /var/cache/apt/archives dai voce vai lá, pega somente os pacotes que voce quer instalar e instala manualmente, provavelmente ele dará uma mensagem que falta dependencias, voce pode instalar forçado tipo com dpkg -f se voce der man dpkg vai ver que lá tambem existe uma opçao --ignore-depends=nomedopacote, eu nunca usei (nem pretendo, rsrsrsrs) mas voce pode tentar. Boa sorte e coloque o resultado aqui se voce conseguir OK.
