I have assigned about 239GB to my /home partition which is ext3 filesystem.
I have heard that ext3 has issues with partitions more than 25GB. I fear
that my installation will corrupt again.

Can I do anything to stop the oncoming crash ? Do you suggest switching to a
better FS? Perhaps like JFS or ext4? In that case, how do I convert my FS
without losing any data?

My System:

Ram - 1 GB
Processor - Celeron D (2.8 GHz)

Hard Disk 1 - Samsung 250 GB
Hard Disk 2 - Maxtor 40 GB

Ubuntu 9.04 has been installed on Hard Disk 1 with following partitions:

"/" - 1 GB
"/boot" - 1 GB
"/home" - 239 GB
swap - rest of the disk space

Hard Disk 2 has no partitions.
