I'm in a hurry but I have some idea in mind right now:
1. Masnun can easily avail a temporary net connection from a friend using GP
etc.
2. Downloading and installing Medibuntu would also help him.
What I did in my case while using Kubuntu was I had net connection either in
LAN based or Mobile EDGE connection, so I updated the codecs as necessary.
