Thanks Dave (Wine) and Angus (VirtualBox) for the advice. I've been told about both but have yet to study them. It would be nice to be able to run a couple of other Windows programs that I have on Ubuntu. Meanwhile I'm hoping that the ATO live up to their promise and write e-tax for Linux sometime in the near future. Geoff
