I have a LaserJet 1022 and an OfficeJet Pro L7380 [1]. They both work perfectly. I think the 1022 might be obsolete, but anything on the HP web site (maybe start at [2]) that says it's Mac-compatible should work on Ubuntu, since they share the same printing system. (CUPS is actually produced by Apple now.)
