I'm not surprised at all. But truth be told, home users are the least of my concerns. I make a living supporting businesses and enterprise where gaming typically is banned. What's good for business is not necessarily good for home, and vice versa (why people think Windows is good for business because it's easy to use at home, I have no idea). Converting the masses at home is not my drive. I'm far more interested in Linux being used in the business place, because I believe it's a better suit based on it's flexibility, ease of remote maintenance and remote configuration, and secure-multi-user-by-design philosophy. Particularly so when there are competent and qualified helpdesk and sysadmins on site to support it. Home users are welcome to low-end gaming OSes like Windows. That doesn't worry me in the slightest. If people want to use their $1000+ home PCs as glorified games consoles, then let them. Beyond that, with free virtualisation and simple dual-booting, there's no reason why people can't have both Windows and Linux on their home PCs. Although it is fairly tragic that the last stand of the Windows using community is gaming. Again from a business perspective, it's a pointless argument. - -Dan -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFIbaWqeFJDv0P9Qb8RAoLmAJ9HXpBqLyyhlvnDHej5d0we33iD/wCfWUCO xREIKLP1f+BeIs0/NICTYjw= =Q5TL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
