you are being sarcastic and diametric, both of which are unfortunate to the ends of friendly and/or useful discussion. nonetheless it is worth mentioning that there is no such thing as a grand-unified-theory of usability. there is, however public opinion and in the case of there being someone with special needs, a special theme to cater for them. there have been some great mockups on this list. there are certainly some which are outside the realm of reason in that they are not technically feasible with GTK/Gnome. of those mockups that we programmers understand to be feasible and practical, we would do well to ask for public opinion and work from there: that will surely humble any canonical treatise on Design, a topic i studied for some years myself. i might not like elephant skin on my desktop but if the majority of the Ubuntu using community loves it then it most certainly deserves to be the default wallpaper. i'd like to see a public poll upon what we - as the ubuntu art team - see as the most viable wallpapers and themes proposed for 8.06 so far. if there are people that haven't proposed a theme or wallpaper to this list, but have work that they think is great, then we can point them to this this list from the poll. their ideas can go up for vote next time.. thoughts? -- julian oliver http://julianoliver.com http://selectparks.net -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art
