There are no patches needed against the Firefox *codebase*, but the  
customized themes are created by patching specific portions of the  
standard Firefox *chrome* while reusing the rest of the chrome as is.

Basically the build process looks like this:
– copy (unpack) default Firefox 2 chrome
– patch stylesheets, graphics and assemble icon sheets
– pack the patched chrome into theme JARs
– create Debian package of the theme JARs

I was suggesting I could help someone with the file locations and  
places where you'd want to "patch" the default chrome. The Firefox  
codebase remains fully untouched.
