Well, it was just an idea :)
Maybe it would be better if the forum just replaced the wiki+ML, not launchpad ?
Against voters : Don't you like the whole idea or is it just launchpad/other aspects ?
Well I still like the idea, whether it becomes a forum with or withoud launchpad itergrated :)

You can subscribe to wiki pages and launchpad pages, just like you
suggest to subscribe to forum threads, so in the end I don't see that
much difference?
Also, web forums don't keep status information about what you've read
already, which actually makes it really difficult to keep up-to-date.
