After numerous tries, I am still unsuccessful in getting speakup to work with ubuntu, and I contribute that largely to operator error [that's me!] So, here I am, asking if anyone has step-by-step instructions on how to install ubuntu from stratch and have speakup working correctly? Use server version? Use desktop version? Do something else? I do not need any desktop environments, just the plain command-line interface with speakup Thank you very much in advance, talk soon --David
