ubuntu 20.4 getting to the desktop

With ubuntu 18.4 using gnome-tweak, it was easy to tell what items I wanted on 
the desktop, such as computer, trash, mounted drives, and so forth.
With ubuntu 20.4 using gnome-tweak, there is not the same ability.
Also I cannot figure out how to get to the desktop.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
