*Job Opportunity* Postdoctoral Research Associate | University of Manchester, UK | Full-time, fixed term for 12 months
An opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join PROFID, a 21-party pan-European project, with the overarching objective of developing, trialling and implementing a personalised risk prediction model to support the prevention of sudden cardiac death after myocardial infarction. The results of these advanced data analytics will be of benefit to patients, researchers, clinicians and EU health care systems. The successful candidate will work within the University of Manchester’s Centre for Health Informatics (https://www.herc.ac.uk/) and join the team of researchers therein who are responsible for the development of the risk prediction model. Central to this role is to undertake the analysis of healthcare data to develop and validate the risk prediction model for sudden cardiac death after myocardial infarction. To achieve this, we have access to 24 datasets from across the EU, US, and Israel. One of the main responsibilities for this role will be applying advanced statistical and machine learning methods to develop the risk prediction model as well as apply meta-analysis methods to pool results across datasets. This role will be particularly suited to anyone who has experience of applying statistical methods to develop risk prediction models, and who has interests in analysing healthcare data.
