The Opportunity

This position will conduct high quality research in Cognitive Robotics and 
requires a background in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. The position 
will be part of an active research team in artificial intelligence and robotics 
in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW. While teaching is 
not part of the formal duties, some teaching may be negotiated.

The role of Research Associate in Cognitive Robotics and Knowledge 
Representation & Reasoning reports to Professor Maurice Pagnucco, Deputy Dean 
(Education), UNSW Engineering and has no direct reports.

  *   Salary (Level A): $95,449 - $102,112 (AUD) + 17% superannuation
  *   30-month fixed term contract
  *   Full-time position
  *   Location: Kensington Campus – Sydney, Australia

Selection Criteria

  *   PhD (or soon to be awarded) in knowledge representation and reasoning 
(artificial intelligence) or related area.
  *   Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited 
supervision.
  *   Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations 
relative to opportunity.
  *   Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines 
and build effective relationships.
  *   Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and 
interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
  *   Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to 
attending relevant health and safety training.
