Chair in Statistical Science

The Department of Statistical Science at UCL invites applications for a Chair 
in Statistical Science from candidates with outstanding research records of 
international excellence.  The appointee will be expected to provide research 
leadership as well as to contribute to the Department's undergraduate and 
postgraduate teaching programmes. UCL has a strong presence in Statistical 
Machine Learning, Statistics and the Environment, Mathematical Biology and 
Biostatistics. The appointee may wish to help in providing leadership in 
existing and new initiatives in any of these areas as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have an internationally recognised track record 
of research and will be able to contribute to the strong research profile of 
the Department and to provide energetic leadership.  They are expected to have 
continuing track records of external research grant funding and doctoral 
research supervision, experience of teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate 
level and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

The post is available from 1 May 2014. Salary is negotiable on the professorial 
scale but will not be less than 64,562 GBP per annum. In addition, professorial 
appointments in Statistical Science attract a market supplement of 15,000 GBP 
per annum.
