Deadline for applications: March 1st 2013. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Colleague, I look for a talented young researcher who would like to work on very large scale optimization, in particular, might take the matrix-free interior point method http://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/~gondzio/reports/mtxFree.html a step further. Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral research assistant position in Optimization. You will participate in the EPSRC funded project “Mathematics for Vast Digital Resources” and be part of the Edinburgh Research Group in Optimization (http://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/ERGO). You will be an enthusiastic and creative individual with a PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field and will have a strong publication record. Individuals with background in large-scale optimization methods, numerical linear algebra and strong programming experience are particularly encouraged to apply. This is a 1-year fixed term position available as soon as possible and ideally, starting not later than May 1st 2013. In exceptional circumstances the starting date may be delayed by one or two months. However, this may require shortening the contract.
