We are seeking an outstanding scientist or engineer with research expertise in any or all of the following areas: robotics, data mining, computational linguistics, logic programming, multi-agent systems, computational intelligence, and machine learning. Institute for Artificial Intelligence is an interdisciplinary research and instructional unit within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. We are looking for a dynamic Research Scientist to (1) begin and maintain a rigorous, externally funded research program, (2) contribute to the instructional mission of the Institute by teaching at least two graduate level courses per academic year as well as directing graduate student theses, and (3) manage the Institute's laboratory facilities. In addition, the successful applicant will join the Institute's administrative team as the Associate Director for the Institute, to assist the Director with management, decision making and planning for the Institute.
