People have asked me why my 1989 text Probabilistic Reasoning in
Expert Systems, which introduced and helped serve to identify the
properties of Bayesian networks, is so expensive (around $199 new).
The reason is that Wiley unfortunately took it out of print in the
1990s. Due to an apparent continued demand for the book, I have made
arrangements to bring it back into print. New paperback copies can be
