Research Assistant (Intelligent Event Management)

Based at Queen's University's Institute of Electronics, Communications and 
Information Technology (ECIT http://www.ecit.qub.ac.uk/), the £30 million 
world-class Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT 
http://www.csit.qub.ac.uk/) will couple major research breakthroughs with a 
wide portfolio of leading UK based companies in an exciting innovation and 
commercialisation environment. Applications are now sought for this position to 
assist in the development of research proposals and the planning and delivery 
of the research activity in intelligent CCTV-based surveillance within CSIT.

Available for 3 years, the main focus of research and application will be in 
the broad area of intelligent event (behaviour, activities) management, 
especially using agent-based technologies for distributed event communication 
and reasoning, and the integration of situation awareness into the agent system 
architecture.

Anticipated interview date: Wednesday 7 December 2011

Salary scale: £25,101 - £31,798 per annum (including contribution points)
