Dear fellow UAI:ers,

Have you ever struggled with finding just the right combination of keywords to
use in the standard search engines, in order to keep track of recently
published scientific articles relevant to your research? Would you like a
simple system to notify you when something new and relevant appears?

If so, please take a minute or two to try out the following site:

https://grocko.org

I am hoping to develop this system into a useful service to the UAI (and
related topics) research community, and would very much welcome any feedback
you might have.

Briefly, the system semi-automatically collects scientific abstracts from a
number of sources, and users can search this database using full-text queries.
This means that you may input an entire abstract (or more) into the search
query field, and get relevant results. Setting up a personalized recommendation
system is trivial: simply upload your BibTeX file and the system will provide
you with suggestions of relevant new papers to read.

At present, the system mainly includes articles from UAI, NIPS, JMLR, and
arxiv.org, but more papers from AISTATS, ICML, PGM etc will soon be added to
the mix. Users are welcome to participate in uploading material for
recommendation to the community.

I do not have extensive experience running web servers, but I hope to be able
to respond promptly to any issues that may arise. If you are having trouble
with any aspect of the site, please report the issue on the forum at

http://groups.google.com/group/grocko

This forum may also serve as a place for any discussion relating to the system.
Feel free to suggest new features, or complain about the behavior of existing
ones! To avoid burdening the UAI mailing list, please bring up any comments and
discussion there. (Note that reading the forum does not require any form of
login, but writing a post requires being logged in with a standard Google
account.) For those using twitter, announcements relating to the site will also
appear on

http://twitter.com/grockotweets

Regards,
Patrik Hoyer
