** PROBABILISTIC PROBLEM SOLVING IN BIOMEDICINE (ProBioMed'11) **
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

* CALL FOR PAPERS *

Workshop in conjunction with AIME-2011, Bled, Slovenia.

Workshop URL: http://probiomed.cs.ru.nl/

o Deadline for submissions April 14, 2011
o Notification of acceptance May 8, 2011
o Final camera-ready manuscript June 8, 2011
o Workshop date July 2, 2011

We seek high quality contributions of applications of probabilistic
modelling, reasoning, and learning to problems in biomedicine as well
as papers proposing theoretical foundations of such methods. Topics of
interest include (for details see http://probiomed.cs.ru.nl):

* Probabilistic modelling methods applied to biomedical problems:
o Probabilistic graphical models (such as, Bayesian networks,
    Markov models, causal networks, etc.)
o Dynamic probabilistic models (MDPs, POMDPs, DBNs, ...)
o Influence diagrams and decision networks
  o Probabilistic logics
  o Imprecise probabilities
* Innovative probabilistic methods for biomedical problem solving:
  o Diagnostic models
  o Prediction models for prognosis
  o Treatment selection and monitoring
  o Multi-morbidity models
o Epidemiological models, e.g., of infectious disease spread
* Learning methods:
  o Multi-relational learning
o Probabilistic structure and parameter learning
  o Probabilistic classifiers
* Innovative biomedical applications of probabilistic models:
o Probabilistic models for personalised medicine
o Patient (tele)medicine (in the management of stroke, COPD,
    diabetes, etc.)
o Probabilistic models for translational medicine
o Analysis of clinical practice guidelines

Papers should be written in English, formatted according to the
Springer LNCS style, and not exceed 12 pages. Paper submission
is electronic via

https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=probiomed11

At least one co-author of a workshop paper should be present at AIME,
and has to register also to the main conference (in addition to
registration to the workshop).

Extended versions of selected submissions will be considered for a
special issue in the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine journal.
