PROCESSING (MLSP 2011) will be held in Beijing, China, in
September 2011. MLSP 2011 is the 21th workshop in the
series of workshops sponsored by IEEE Signal Processing Society. It
will present the most recent and exciting contributions in machine
learning for signal processing through keynote talks as well as
special and regular single-track sessions.

INVITED SPEAKERS:

- Prof. Biing-Hwang (Fred) Juang, Georgia Institute of Technology
- Prof. Maja Pantic, Imperial College
- Prof. Takashi Matsumoto, Waseda University
- Dr. Kunio Kanshino, NTT Communication Science Lab
- Dr. Yimin Zhang, Intel Research Lab

ORGANIZATION:

General chair: Tieniu Tan, Shigeru Katagiri
Program chairs: Jianhua Tao, Atsushi Nakamura
Special session chairs: Hideyuki Watanabe
Publicity chairs: Marc Van Hulle, Yiqiang Chen, Feng Tian

Financial Chair: Kaiqi Huang

VENUE:

MLSP 2011 will be held in the Institute of Automation,
Chinese Academy of Sciences. For information on travel and hotels
see http://mlsp2011.conwiz.dk.

CONFERENCE TOPICS:

Machine learning in signal processing 2011 is concerned with
all aspects of machine learning for signal prrocessing including,
but not limited to:

Algorithms & Architectures:
Machine learning and statistical signal processing; typical
approaches and modern implementations of supervised,
unsupervised, reinforcement and semi-supervised learning,
probabilistic modeling and kernel methods; artificial neural
networks, advanced (adaptive, nonlinear) signal processing.

Applications:
Speech processing, image processing (computervision), pattern
recognition, medical imaging, multimodal interactions, intelligent
multimedia and webprocessing, robotics, sonar and radar, biomedical
engineering, timeseries prediction, blind source separation,
data fusion and mining.

Implementations:
Parallel and distributed implementations, hardware design and
implementations for real-time processing requirements.

DATA COMPETITION:

A data and signal analysis competition related to face recognition
is being organized. Winners will present their works and receive
their award during the Workshop. For more information see
http://mlsp2011.conwiz.dk.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

Authors are invited to submit a double column paper of up to six
pages using the electronic submission procedure described at
http://mlsp2011.conwiz.dk. Accepted papers will be published by
IEEE and electronic proceedings.

SPONSORS: MLSP 2011 is supported by IEEE, by the IEEE Signal
Processing Society, by Intel, and by Dolby.
