IUKM 2011 Symposium aims to provide a forum for presenting and discussing
theoretical and applied research on integrated uncertainty modelling and
management. The goal is to bring together researchers working on uncertainty
formalisms in information and knowledge systems and to attract researchers
working in engineering and social sciences such as economics, business,
management and environmental sciences who are interested in applying
uncertainty-related tools and techniques to their fields.
The list of possible topics includes (but is not limited to):
+ Theory and Methodology
   - Uncertainty formalisms: Bayesian probability, Dempster-Shafer theory,
imprecise probability, random sets, rough sets, fuzzy sets and
interval-based models, logics for uncertainty reasoning
   - Information fusion and knowledge integration in uncertain environments
   - Decision making under various types of uncertainty
   - Aggregation operators
   - Copulas for dependence modelling
   - Granular and soft computing
+ Application
   - Data mining and knowledge discovery
   - Ontology engineering and Semantic Web
   - Software engineering
   - Medical informatics and bioinformatics
   - Ranking and recommendation systems
   - Kansei engineering and evaluation
   - Engineering management
   - Supply chain management
   - Management of services
   - Economics and environmental sciences.

PUBLICATION
The proceedings of IUKM 2011 will be published by Springer-Verlag in its
series Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence and be available at the
Symposium. Authors are requested to prepare their papers in the Springer
LNAI/LNCS format. Submissions should not exceed 12 pages and must be
submitted as PDF electronically through the conference system.
Please visit the conference website at http://iukm.zju.edu.cn/ for details.
A Best Paper Award, sponsored by Elsevier, will be given to author(s) of
IUKM 2011's best paper.
In addition, after the Symposium, the authors of selected papers from
IUKM2011 will be invited to submit an extended version of their work for
possible inclusion in a special issue of International Journal of
Approximate Reasoning (Elsevier).
