Dear UAI mailing list manager, Please forward the following call to the UAI list please.
Thank you. Weiru Liu ----------------------------- 2nd CALL FOR PAPERS: The Eleventh European Conference on Symbolic and Quantitative Approaches to Reasoning with Uncertainty (ECSQARU 2011) http://www.cs.qub.ac.uk/ecsqaru2011/ 29th June - 1st July, 2011, Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK The biennial ECSQARU conferences are a major forum for advances in the theory and practice of reasoning under uncertainty. Contributors are expected to come both from researchers interested in advancing the technology and from practitioners who are using uncertainty techniques in applications. The scope of ECSQARU includes, but is not limited to, fundamental issues, representation, inference, learning, and decision making in qualitative and numeric paradigms. Previous ECSQARU conferences have been held in Marseille (1991), Granada (1993), Fribourg (1995), Bonn (1997), London (1999), Toulouse (2001), Aalborg (2003), Barcelona (2005), Hammamet (2007), and Verona (2009). We invite submissions of Conference Papers, PhD Forum Posters, and Software Demos for ECSQARU-2011. (Please see Call for Papers and Submissions at the conference website for further details.) Possible topics include, but are not limited to: Algorithms for uncertain inference Argumentation systems Automated planning & acting Bayesian networks & Causal networks Belief functions Belief revision & merging Classification & Clustering Decision theory and graphs Default reasoning Description logics with uncertainty Empirical studies of algorithms Foundations of reasoning and decision making under uncertainty Fuzzy sets and Fuzzy Logic Game theoretic agents Implementation & applications of uncertain systems Imprecise probabilities Inconsistency handling Information fusion Learning for uncertainty formalisms Logics for reasoning under uncertainty Markov decision processes Probabilistic logics Possibility theory & Possibilistic logic Preferences Rough sets Uncertainty in databases Uncertainty & data integration Uncertainty & data mining Conference Papers: Papers must not exceed 12 pages. Submitted papers will be evaluated by peer review on the basis of originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. All accepted conference papers will be included in the conference proceedings to be published in the Springer LNAI series. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference and to present their work. EasyChair submission system is now open: http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ecsqaru2011 INVITED SPEAKERS: The three invited speakers at the ECSQARU'11 conference are: **Prof Didier Dubois, **Prof Dov Gabbay, **Prof Joe Halpern. SPECIAL ISSUE OF International Journal of Approximate Reasoning: Authors of selected papers from ECSQARU'11 will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers for possible inclusion in a special issue of IJAR. IMPORTANT DATES Conference Paper Submission Deadline: 31st January 2011 Notification of Acceptance: 21st March 2011 Best regards, Weiru Liu _______________________________________________ uai mailing list uai@ENGR.ORST.EDU https://secure.engr.oregonstate.edu/mailman/listinfo/uai
