The University of Arizona invites applications for a post-doctoral research position. The selected candidate will lead a research effort in automatically generating semantically meaningful descriptions of actions and activities in video, in close collaboration with PIs Kobus Barnard, Paul Cohen, and Ian Fasel. The expected length of the appointment is two years, with possibility of renewal. Applications will be considered until the position is filled. Candidates are expected to have a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related areas. Demonstrated experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning and/or Statistics is required. Additional background in Robotics would be useful in order to work on other related projects. The candidates should also have excellent mathematical and analytical abilities and good programming skills in a scientific programming language such as C, Matlab, or Python with SciPy.
