Possible research projects include developing methods of learning dynamic Bayesian networks from time series data, learning causal structures under difficult conditions, or developing methods for evaluating causal discovery algorithms. Applicants must have a PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline and a background in machine learning, Bayesian networks or computational statistics. The position will involve collaboration with Dr Ann Nicholson and Dr Kevin Korb, who have a range of theoretical and applied projects in causal discovery and Bayesian network technology at the Clayton School of Information Technology, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
