Yahoo! Research, with locations in Sunnyvale, Burbank, and Berkeley, California, and in New York City, is hiring junior and senior Research Scientists and Research Interns in five broad areas: * search and retrieval, * machine learning and data analysis, * user experience, interfaces, and social media, * large-scale distributed computing, and * microeconomics and e-commerce. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Cognitive Science, or related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of thought leadership in his or her field, reflected by prominent publication and leadership activities. You will have the ability to design and deploy experimental services reaching millions of users. You will work with Engineers and Scientists to turn ideas and algorithms into workable prototypes, patents, and alpha/beta products.
