The 16th European Conference on Machine Learning (ECML) and the 9th European Conference on Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (PKDD) will be co-located in Porto, Portugal, October 3-7, 2005. The combined event will comprise 6 invited speakers, 75 oral presentations of contributed papers, 67 poster papers, 11 workshops, 8 tutorials and a Discovery Challenge.

 *** Early registration deadline is: 3 September 2005
 *** Accommodation should be booked as soon as possible, since Porto will host other conferences in October.
