Ben, I am so sorry... please actually drop this patch. I've been in contact with Intel regarding the equivalent patch for the Linux kernel and it turns out this is just a workaround for a misconfiguration in our EEPROMs. The boards on which I have fixed the EEPROMs do not need this change in order to operate correctly.
I am also finishing up a group of patches which allow us to more easily program and manage those EEPROMs from U-Boot which I plan to submit some time in the next few days; I will make sure to put you on the CC list for them. Again, my apologies for the trouble! Cheers, Kyle Moffett
