OK, I will need to fix up my mk802 rev. 1 (the old and crappy one ! ) and check this FEL stuff. I would really want to avoid one more linker script if possible, since it adds to maintainance overhead and technological debt ... but if you say it's necessary, I will not block it. btw. try popping up at #u-boot @ irc.freenode.net , it'd be nice to have you around!
