I suspect you are taking code from [1]. in which case code sourcery gcc [2] will be good. Further, you need to say ARCH=ARM as part of your compilation command.
By the way, there are many "TI3430" boards. from your defconfig I understand it is for SDP3430[3]. I had written a small quick start doc for 2430 - many of whose comments are still valid for 2430.
