Hello everyone.

Today, I'm happy to announce that there is a new mailing list / newsgroup in town. It is the successor of the existing newsgroup "typo3.projects.typo3_4-3.general". However, it isn't bound to any particular v4 release, but is suited for all the upcoming releases, like 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 and hopefully some more.

So, why would somebody need to subscribe to another list?

Basically, the "typo3.projects.v4" serves as a place for ideas, current projects that are in development like the extension manager, that are or could-be future projects for any core-related development in v4.

A quick overview of some newsgroups and their purposes:

  typo3.dev:
Discussions. Anything that devs would like to ask, general development questions, about particular implementations, about certain extensions etc, as before, is done through this list.

  typo3.teams.core:
Core Patches: The main list for submitting patches that can be reviewed by others. This list has strong rules, please make sure you've read before you post a message:
http://typo3.org/teams/core/core-mailinglist-rules/

  typo3.projects.v4:
Ideas / Possible Projects and new Features: The new place to throw in new ideas for a collaborative project, a spot to find alpha testers for a new feature that could be integrated in a future 4.x version.

  typo3.projects.typo3_4-3.general:
4.3 only: Don't use it anymore, as there are no new features for the stable TYPO3 4.3 version developed in the future.

All the best,
Benni Mack

FYI: The typo3.projects.typo3_4-3.general list is now officially "deprecated" / abandoned and will only survive as a reference to old discussions.
