Salary from £46,336 p.a.
Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor (or Professor) of
Computer Science to be held in the Department of Computer Science with effect
from 1 October 2018. The successful candidate will also be appointed as Fellow
and Tutor in Computer Science at Keble College; Tutors being responsible for
the organisation and teaching of their subject within the College.
The salary for this position is offered on a scale from £46,336 p.a., plus
substantial additional benefits including an additional pensionable housing
allowance of £9,645 p.a.; eligibility to a housing equity scheme; an academic
allowance of £1,356 p.a. for support for teaching/research; an entertaining
allowance of £476 p.a.; and a graduate student entertainment allowance is
payable. Access to a grants scheme and the College’s private medical scheme is
also available.
The Department of Computer Science is a vibrant and growing academic
department, which has a research profile across the entire spectrum of
contemporary computing. In terms of research specialism, we seek to appoint an
outstanding candidate with expertise in one of the ten areas of computer
science that the department currently focusses on: algorithms & complexity
theory; artificial intelligence and machine learning; automated verification;
computational biology and health informatics; cyber-physical systems;
foundations, structures, and quantum; human-centred computing; information
systems; programming languages; and security.
You will be a member of both the University and the college community; part of
a lively and intellectually stimulating research community with access to the
excellent research facilities which Oxford offers. You will have a role to play
in the running of the College as a member of the Governing Body and a trustee
of the College as a charity.
You will hold a doctorate in computer science, or a related subject, have the
ability to teach across a range of computer science subjects, and will also
have a proven research record of high quality at international level, and
experience of research collaborations at both national and international level.
