Who actually runs 2000? It has been dropped out of Microsoft's
mainstream support. What's the point in supporting a dead product?

Subject: [twsocket] Should ICS support IPv6 on W2K?

Hi,

I think ICS should not support IPv6 on W2K (possible only with the
IPv6 Technical Preview) because:

1.) It is possible to install the IPv6 Technical Preview for Windows
2000 on W2K SP1 only (at least this one:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=27b1e6a6-bbdd-4
3c9-af57-dae19795a088&DisplayLang=en).
Who actually runs W2K SP1 when there is SP4 and Rollup 1 available?

2.) API of the IPv6 Technical Preview supports ANSI only.
Since XP there are A and W functions.
So either we call the ANSI versions only or we call ANSI and Wide API
depending on the Windows version, both was suboptimal and latter was a
mess.

What do you think?
